In Champions League soccer, Man United top Group E thanks to a 2-all draw with Aalborg. Carlos Tevez scored in the second minute, but Wayne Rooney had to come up with an equaliser early in the second half. Villareal are runners up despite a 2-0 defeat to Celtic. Group F winners Bayern Munich beat runners up Lyon 3-2. Arsenal suffered a 2-0 defeat to Porto to give the Portuguese top spot in Group G. Real Madrid are top of Group H after a 3-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg, while group runners up Juventus played out a goalless draw with BATE.
